Membership
Responsibilities
Every member is responsible for keeping their unit in good condition. You are required to keep the exterior and the interior in good condition. We take pride in our co-op and we all make the effort to create and maintain a pleasant living environment. You are encouraged to maintain your front garden with your neighbour.
You must have contents insurance, a copy of which must be submitted to the Finance Committee annually.
We expect everyone to live co-operatively and as a good neighbour. We ask that you be considerate of others and keep the noise level down. Children should be respectful of other people’s property and time.
As we are a self-managed community, participation is mandatory for everyone. One adult member from each household is required to participate on one of our committees. The time commitment for these committees is approximately 8hrs per month. Members who choose not to participate will be subjected to a fine of $80.00/month for non-participation.
We hold General Membership Meetings every second month. Attendance at these meetings is mandatory. As we are democratically run, your voice is important to the decision making process, and this is your opportunity to voice your opinions and concerns. If you are unable to attend a meeting for any reason you must submit in writing to the office before the meeting.
All members are expected to abide to the co-op’s Pet Policy. No animals are allowed in any of the playground areas at any time. You are responsible for any and all clean-up of your animals. There is a $10.00 fine for infractions of this policy for each and every infraction. We allow up to 2 four-legged animals per unit that are to be no larger than 18” fully grown (which is measured at the shoulder). This can consist of either two cats or a cat and a dog. We do not allow 2 dogs to reside in a unit. All cats are to be indoors and dogs must be on a leash at all times outside of the unit. We also allow birds and fish, but do not allow any exotics – such as snakes, lizards or spiders.

Board of DirectorsWe have a board of directors which is elected from the membership. This board oversees the day to day operation of the co-op, as well as dealing with any legal matters and handling complaints of a serious nature. Election to this board is open to all members in good standing
ParticipationIn addition to the bi-monthly general membership meetings, members must participate on at least one of the committees listed to the right. The total time spent on committees should be approximately 8 hours per month. Your participation is very important in keeping the co-op running smoothly and efficiently.
